Way back during my natural hair journey in 2012, when I was just transitioning, I was an avid user of Cantu’s Leave in Conditioner Hair Cream. I was thrilled to find out that their Natural Hair Line was being released, and of course I just had to try them! Here’s what I found:

1) Sulfate Free Cleansing Cream Shampoo (13.5 oz):
I love that it is predominantly made with pure shea butter, removes heavy buildup, prevents breakage
and it is great for color treated hair. A little also goes a long way; you do not need much because it lathers up. The shampoo did not leave my hair feeling stripped of its natural oils and it does have a light fruity smell.

2) Sulfate Free Hydrating Cream Conditioner (13.5 oz):
My hair tends to really like Shea butter-based products. So I was really excited to try this conditioner. This consistency is really thick and feels very moisturizing, even after rinsing completely out. The smell is also similar to the shampoo. The product aims to help hair retain natural oils for fewer split ends. Although I did notice that it does not have much slip.

3) Cantu Leave-In Conditioning Cream (12 oz):
After shampooing and conditioning my hair, I used the Leave-in Conditioning Cream after. I am very familiar with this product from my transitioning days, but I was excited to try it out now that I am fully natural. Being that I have color treated hair, I love that this product stops & mends hair breakage. The smell is really light and pleasant; I found that it still serves as a great detangler and was very moisturizing.

4) Coconut Curling Cream (12 oz):
This product aims to define curls without weighing down hair
and is meant to moisturize & strengthen strands. I was super excited to try this cream from the whole collection, especially being that it is a coconut oil based product. I found it to be a bit drying, keep in mind that a little does go a long way. Maybe I used too much product? Which I do have a tendency of doing. This product works best as a styling product, not for your usual “wash & go’s”. The smell is also very similar to the shampoo and has a medium consistency.

5) Twist & Lock Gel (13 oz):

The consistency of this product is a very lightweight cream that does not leave a sticky residue behind after using it. The texture has a jelly-like feel. It aims to control frizz and moisturize. I found that this product works best for achieving hairstyles like twist-outs and braids-outs, especially if you like definition.

Final thoughts:
I was amazed at how efficient and multi-purpose each product was. Light Conditioning Cream & Moisturizer

Whipped Dream Hair Butter (Trial Size)
This cream is amaze balls! I used this to coat my strands for extra moisture and it did the job! Not only did it keep my hair moisturized but it even softened it as well. You can even use this on your skin! It has a thick consistency, but once you rub it in your fingers it becomes a really light pomade. It also smells delish, like a tropical concoction!

Liquid Luxe Hair Oil (Trial Size)
This is such a great sealant! I used this oil with the LCO Method (Liquid, Cream & Oil), but aside from the LCO Method this oil can be used is so many ways! Hot oil treatment, pre-shampoo, sealant and even on your skin! Sealants are great for locking in moisture and this product does the job.

Final Thoughts:
I was really impressed with this product line; my hair responded great to the Adore Curls products and my hair felt moisturized without me having to reapply more product. I also found that it did not cause any heavy build up, which is a major plus! I will definitely be adding these as staples. I noticed that my hair always responds better to products that have natural ingredients as opposed to the rest. The only two con’s I found was the smell in the Light conditioning Cream, it has like a minty smell that I wasn’t crazy about, but I found that once it dries it totally goes away! The other con would be the price, it is a bit on the expensive side, but the products are totally worth it! The ingredients are of high quality and natural, which are going to help keep your hair and scalp healthy. I love that the creator of these products is also a naturalista and has formulated these products after realizing that the key to healthy hair and great products is quality ingredients.

What is oil rinsing and how does it help natural hair?
Oil rinsing is simply an extra step between shampooing and conditioning that promises to make detangling a breeze, make your hair retain moisture much better and increase softness and shine. All in all, it is a like a hot oil treatment done while you are in the shower.

The advantages of Oil Rinsing:
• Moisture retention
• Smooth, soft hair
• Reduction/elimination of single strand knots
• Easier detangling
• Natural shine enhancer

Here’s how you do an oil rinse:
• Start by shampooing your hair, if you are co washing only then just rinse your hair, but make sure it gets soaked.
• Coat your wet hair with about a handful (about ½ cup or so) of your favourite oil like olive, jojoba, castor etc.
• Rinse the oil off with hot water.
• Proceed to apply conditioner to your strands liberally.
• Rinse with cool water while detangling. This should be quick and painless!
• Apply your leave in conditioner and seal

Have you tried the oil rinsing method on your hair?
