I have always been a fan of Sonia Kashuk’s brushes, so when I was able to finally get my hands on her latest set – the exclusive Knockout Beauty Collection, which debuted in Target early this March – I was beyond ecstatic! The line was created by Sonia herself, along with the artist Dana Louise Kirkpatrick, to empower women with inspiring messages like “love is all you need” and “you are a knockout”. These messages are cute little reminders as I apply my makeup each day. The set includes: a Powder Brush, Blush Brush, Applicator Brush, Concealer Brush, Eyeshadow Brush, Eyeliner Brush, Eyeshadow Brush, Smudge Brush, Lip Color Brush, Eyebrow Comb/Brush. Along with the collection, I also purchased the Matte Lipstick in “Power Punch”, which is a beautiful vibrant red.

Not only are the brushes of great quality, but they also apply makeup so beautifully! Let me show you the “Knockout Beauty” look I created using brushes from the collection.

2. Following up with the concealer using the Precision Concealer Brush.
3. I added an earth-toned color for my eyes using the Domed Eye Shadow Brush.
4. Afterwards, I applied a rosy blush using the Powder Blush Brush.
5. Last but not least, finishing the look using the Power Punch Lipstick.

I’m so happy to continue partnering with Target to share some awesome beauty stories and tips with you all for 2016. This spring, Pixi is launching its first ever skincare line “Skintreats” sold exclusively at Target! This line is formulated with natural, skin illuminating products to maintain a youthful glowing look. These products came just in time, as I was looking for new items to spruce my skin care regimen. I’m going to share with you my current skincare routine using the Pixi line.

Moisturizing Cleansing Cloths
First thing I usually like to do before cleansing my face is removing all of my makeup with a facial cloth. It’s the best way to ensure that you have successfully removed all traces of makeup before cleansing. These ultra nourishing pre-moistened cleansing cloths are not only super soft and gentle, but they hydrate & refresh your skin while lifting away impurities. I like that each soft cloth is infused with aloe vera and camellia oil to soothe skin, leaving it feeling refreshed & hydrated.

Glow Mud Mask:
After removing all of my makeup, I like to use the Glow Mud Mask right after.
It’s a purifying, glow-revealing clay mask made to purify & balance skin. Not only does it stimulate and clarify, but it also brightens the skin. While absorbing oils it also draws out impurities, and fights breakouts while giving an energizing boost to the complexion. Kaolin & sea salt purify while ginseng & aloe vera balance. I have really oily skin and I love that it soaks up all the excess oil, without leaving my skin dry.

24k Eye Elixir
Nothing is worse than waking up with bulgy-puffy tired eyes that screams you haven’t slept in ages. For someone who hardly sleeps, this is a must have for me! Thankfully, this elixir an anti-fatigue peptide serum that massages away puffiness as it smoothes and refreshes the eye area. It has peptides that plump fine lines and raspberry that tones the skin. The best part is the cooling rollerball applicator that soothes & encourages circulation around the eye.

Last but not least, if you are a big Matte-Lipstick wearer like I am, you’re definitely in for a treat! This 2-in-1 lip exfoliator + nourisher helps repair & protect dry, sensitive lips. Infused with shea butter & a blend of sweet almond, apricot, and evening primrose oils. It also has this unique massage applicator stimulates circulation, that gives a healthy plumped effect. It also has a lovely smell and taste which is a bonus!

SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil; Strengthen, Grow & Restore Styling Lotion

I have been heavily anticipating the new Jamaican Black Castor Oil line, by SheaMoisture, for as long as I remember. And then, just when I least expected it, I got the Target Beauty Box in the mail this month, which is a fun box of beauty products that anyone can purchase at Target. And I was very excited to see that there was a SheaMoisture hair product along with more goodies to try.

When I first got my hands on the SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor Oil, Strengthen, Grow & Restore Styling Lotion, I noticed that even though it was a travel sized product, it was still sufficient to last a few weeks and, of course, perfect for traveling and on the go.

I opened the bottle immediately to get a whiff of what it smelled like and if you like the smell of Play-doh, you are in for a treat! The texture is also very light, being that it is water-based; this is perfect especially for people who prefer a light consistency rather than a heavy product.

I really liked that this product is formulated with certified organic ingredients and is meant to target chemically processed hair. Being that I have color-treated hair, this product aims to strengthen grow and restore. It also has hair growth properties to stimulate hair growth.

Upon using the JBCO Styling Lotion, I did notice that my hair did feel softer and more hydrated. I was able to style my hair effortlessly, but on the contrary, it does not pair well with other products. It is best if used alone or with other products from the JBCO line.

I love incorporating new items into my daily regimen and this is just one that I definitely see being a staple in my hair regimen. One tip for trying out new hair products, especially if you have curly hair, is to check if the product is water based. Not only is it very moisturizing, but also it will hydrate and nourish the hair deeply within the hair shaft. Water-based products are very necessary.

Here’s what else is in the Target Beauty Box:

• Dove Advanced Hair Series Quench Absolute Supreme Crème Serum – It’s a creme serum formulated for curly, course hair. It’s a leave-in treatment meant to nourish and treat hair, providing 4X more defined natural curls.
• Aquaphor Healing Ointment – Not only does this come in travel size and ready to go, but this is a multi-purpose healing ointment. It can be used for minor burns, cracked skin, dry hands and minor cuts and scrapes.
• Colgate Optic White Fresh Mint Toothpaste– Perfect travel-sized toothpaste for traveling and on the go!

I also received 2 full sized products:

(1) Jane Carter Revitalizing Leave-In Conditioner– I have never tried this product, but it is meant to condition as it de-tangles and it also protects from heat styling which is a bonus! Although I must say it smells great and it is made up of organic ingredients which is even better.
(2) Curls Crème Brulee Whipped Curl Cream– this curl defining creme is bomb! I used this a lot when I had my pixie cut and I still use it now. My curls feel super soft and hydrated and I also love that it is made up of organic ingredients as well.
