A Weekend in Washington, D.C.

Quick weekend getaways are essential in my book. The spontaneity of picking up and going away always excites me. Especially when going somewhere new. This time, we got to do a quick road trip to check out “The District” aka, Washington, DC. I’ve heard so many good things about the city, from the Museums, Nightlife, Historical Monuments, Brunches and more. If you’re interested in heading this way one day, check out some of the highlights of our trip below.

Busboys and Poets

This is a very popular brunch spot and the food here was amazing! I love that the menu offered a variety of options for vegetarians, gluten free and organic. The decor inside is also pretty dope! Historic black figures are painted on the wall along with quotes.  Even Obama ate here.

Finding parking can be a bit difficult in some neighborhoods, but commuting in the city can be fairly easy. There are bikes you can rent, Uber’s are easily accessible and their metro line as well.
I enjoy walking, so we pretty much walked everywhere.

Found on a street called “New York”. The feeling is mutual.

The National Mall

Sculptures in the Park

The Lincoln Memorial

The National Arboretum

If you’re into nature trails, beautiful scenery and all things nature, check out this gem! There are many trees, gardens and plants everywhere.

The National Capitol Columns

Clearly a weekend trip wasn’t enough! We missed so many things, but we do plan on going back soon and seeing a lot more. If you have been to DC please share what’s a must see or do in the city. Comment below and let us know. xo!
